Lake Waco was the site of our 2023-2024 season 4th Qualifying Event. 72 teams hit the water looking for 5 of the right bites. Lake at full pool, warmer weather and overcast skies provided a new challenge for these young anglers. When scales closed,

1st Place went to Laken Schill and Zane Bailey of Robinson HS Bass Club, with 10.50lbs.
They were awarded, 1st Place Trophies, $500.00 in Scholarship Money and an Abu Garcia Reels

2nd Place; went to Cole Baker and Alex Behrends of Midlothian HS Fishing Team, with 10.15lbs
They were awarded, 2nd Place Trophies, $400.00 in Scholarship Money, and an Abu Garcia Reels

3rd Place; went to Matthew Dvorak and Bryden Castillo of West HS Bass Fishing, with 9.53lbs.
They were awarded, 3rd Place Trophies, $300.00 in Scholarship Money, and an Abu Garcia Reels

4th Place; went to Colton Stewart and Carson Mowdy of Double C Bass Club, with 8.15lbs.
They were awarded, 4th Place Trophies, $200.00 in Scholarship Money and an Abu Garcia Reels

5th Place; went to Bryce Randolph and Peyton Sniggs of Salado High School Fishing, with 7.66lbs.
They were awarded, Abu Garcia Rod and Reel Combos

6th Place; went to Fisher Tindell and Hunter Spanos of Crawford High School Fishing, with 7.58lbs.
They were awarded, Abu Garcia Reels

7th Place; went to Brydan Urban and Jackson Garrett Cate of Groesbeck Limestone Lip Rippers, with 7.49lbs.
They were awarded, Berkley Rods


Big Bass Award went to Zane Bailey of Robinson HS Bass Club with 7.73lbs.
He was awarded an Abu Garcia Rod.


Junior Team Award went to Hayden Bartosh and Tanner Jarvies of Bishop Louis Reicher HS with a total weight of 1.71lbs.
They were both awarded Berkley Rods.

The Central Texas High School Tournament Trail, is a non-profit organization located in the Heart of Central Texas, which provides an opportunity for both Middle School and High School students in grades 6th through 12th to excel both academically and professionally through competitive bass fishing. We also provide these students the opportunity to earn scholarship money for their continued education. This Trail was formed and operates solely to invest in the future of these young anglers and the sport of competitive bass fishing in Central Texas.

04/23/2024 -  Championship is set and will be held on the 27th of April 2024 (Saturday) on Lake Waco. Official Launch and Weigh-in site will be Twin Bridges Park Boat Ramp.





09/06/2023 - New for this season;

1) Random live-well checks will be conducted at the ramp at each tournament.

2) The Winter Classic will change from a two day event to a one day tournament, this season.










At a Glance...



  • Entry Fee: $60 per team, per tournament (including Championship)


  • Team format


  • Open to all Student Angler Federation (SAF) Members: 6th - 12th grade


  • 5 Qualifying Tournaments, CTHSTT Winter Classic + Championship


  • Prizes awarded for 1st - 4th place + Big Bass at each tournament, with additional prizes added for every 10 entries.


  • Gift Cards awarded to 3 randomly selected Boat Captains at each tournament


  • Teams will compete for scholarship money and prizes at each qualifying event and compete for over $10,000.00 in scholarship money and prizes at the Championship.


  • The top three teams with the most points at the end of each season have their entry fee for the Championship waived
